Onwards and Upwards for Stephen Gallacher
High Flying times for Stephen Gallacher and Golf Fit
Stephen Gallacher joined the Golf Fit Ltd Team earlier this year and since then his results on the European PGA Tour have went from strength to strength. In May Stephen finished 4th in the PGA Tour’s Flagship event at Wentworth, securing his Tour card for next season and firmly re-establishing himself as a strong contender in any Tour event. Three top 10 finishes followed and Stephen managed to play some great golf in tricky conditions at this year’s Open at St.Andrews for a (-3) T23 finish. That was the highest finish of any Scottish player in the Open since 2005 and took Stephen into the top 100 in the overall golf world rankings.

This is the best course I have played this season as of writing this. I shot 69 (-3) in round 4 and finished T8th at -6. With the exception of Saturday I am delighted with the way I have played this week and things look great for the rest of the season.

How to Exercise Around Competitions
How to Exercise Around Competitions
So the new golf season is well and truly under way and I know everyone will be keen to play as much golf as possible in the summer months. For many this will include plenty of competitive rounds. Therefore it is, as ever, essential to stay injury free and fit to be at your best for any tournaments you may be playing in.
Those who have been training hard during the off-season will want to maintain the improvements in their golf fitness, while still benefiting their game with further training. The good news is that whether you have been training all winter or are just starting now it is always possible to make physical improvements in your game even during the busiest spells of the season.read more ...
2010 Madeira Islands Open
Round 2: McLeary gets to 7 under with a 2 under par 70
Hello everyone, today was just a case of hanging on when not putting my best. I missed quite a few putts from within 7 feet in the first 6 holes which was disappointing but I held it together and actually holed a couple of 10 footers towards the end. It was very windy around the turn on our side of the draw and some of the holes were playing quite difficult so it was important to keep it in play and hole out well. I'm looking forward to playing in one of the last few groups for the first time this year. Hopefully I can carry my form into the last couple of rounds.

Understanding the Muscle Balance
Understanding the muscle balance
This is a basic overview of how our muscles operate during exercise. Hopefully it will help you to understand how the body works during the golf swing.
The 2 Main Muscle Groups
During any functional exercise, the body uses two muscle groups in alternating fashion. The first group of muscles are the stabilisers which hold certain areas of the body in a fixed position. These muscles require a combination of balance, strength and endurance. The mobilisers are the second muscle group and use a combination of muscle flexibility and joint range of motion to achieve desired movements, without disrupting stability.read more ...
What will you do with your off-season?
As the off-season approaches many golfers start to make grand plans to improve their golf swing during the winter. Normally how well golfers implement and execute their plan determines how successful their off-season and subsequent golf season is.
The importance of planning an off-season is commonly underrated. At Golf Fit Ltd we believe that planning is the most important aspect of the off-season. We also consider that a plan is only valid if it is written down; otherwise it is simply a dream or an idea.read more ...
